Ecclesiastical coats of arm

Ecclesiastical heraldic coats of arms have an ancient tradition dating back to the late Middle Ages when they began to be used as papal symbols and seals. Each coat of arms consists of a shield containing figures, such as animals, plants or other elements, that express a precise symbolism for the person wearing it. Above the shield are ornaments that serve an honorific marking function. The band below the shield contains the motto of the prelate or brotherhood.
The coat of arms in the upper image belongs to Card. Angelo Bagnasco and we embroidered it by hand on the chasuble he wore on the occasion of his 50th anniversary of priestly ordination. We make hand-embroidered ecclesiastical coats of arms that can be applied to chasubles, stoles, miters and garments for fraternities.

The Italian processional banner for confraternities.

The processional banner is an embroidered fabric cloth bearing the image of the saint or liturgical symbol to which the confraternity is dedicated. The same cloth also bears the name of the confraternity.
During a procession, especially those dedicated to patron saints, many banners may be seen. They have the task of paving the way for the following members of the confraternity dressed in the colors and clothes of their own group. It is therefore an important identifying symbol that in some cases has been handed down from generation to generation, thus becoming an artistic heirloom to be treated with care.
Arte Ricami makes fraternity banners from silk-blend fabric embroidered by hand in gold bouillon. The central image can be a painting provided to us by the fraternity or an image painted by the artists who collaborate with us.
